Roberto Belloni

/ ROBERTO BELLONI

Roberto Belloni is lecturer at Queen's University in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

He studied at the University of Bologna, graduating with a Laurea, magna cum Laude in Political Science in 1994. He received his Ph.D and M.A. in International Studies from the University of Colorado at Denver. He was visiting professor at the University of Colorado (2002) and Darmouth College (2004). He was most recently a Research Fellow at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs/World Peace Foundation (2002-2004).

An Italian national, Belloni has extensive work experience in Southeast Europe, in particular Bosnia-Herzegovina, and also Kosovo and Croatia. His research focuses on peacebuilding and post-war democratization, with particular emphasis on the Balkans. He has published in the Review of International Studies, International Peacekeeping, the Journal of Peace Research, Ethnopolitics, Civil Wars, the Whitehead Journal of Diplomacy and International Relations, International Studies Perspectives and in edited volumes. His recent work includes the volume State Building and International Intervention in Bosnia (2007).
