The Institute for Advanced Studies on the United Nations organizes a dinner-debate on the representation of the immaterial Heritage within the world economy.

However, what does the economy of immaterial consist in?

The report of the Committee on the economy of the immaterial defines it as "an economy which has no physical foundation but which places the intellectual capacity, knowledge, imagination, innovation and research at the heart of fostering values". However, culturally, the traditions , oral transmission, the performing arts, the social practices or rituals, the knowledge and the practices are bound to nature and to the universe or still the know-how or even the traditional crafts small business expressions are so much elements constituent of this world heritage (UNESCO).

As a matter of fact, knowledge, communication and creation are the keystones of this new era of the immaterial.

So, always according to the Report of the Committee Levy-Jouyet, "the most powerful economic powers in 10 years will be the ones which will be capable of training, attracting and developing new talents, those who will be capable of freeing themselves from barriers (private / public to begin) and borders (economic, commercial, intellectual, creative) and those who will be capable of collaborating and networking an economy of relations there".
