Developed Under the initiative of the political Division III of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, UNO Academia aims at developing a Swiss network for research on the United Nations. This network aims at stimulating information flows, through the organization of an annual conference, an to promote the collaboration among academic spheres, international organizations with Headquarters in Switzerland and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in the fields related to UN.

UNO Academia must allow consolidating existing partnerships and taking advantage of the potential synergies while stimulating research on the UN and international organizations, more particularly in the fields representing an interest towards Swiss initiatives and stakes as well as activities of international organizations in Switzerland. By reinforcing the quality of conditions in the academic Framework, UNO Academia participates to the attraction process of the international Geneva and maintains its role as multilateral international cooperation platform. This corresponds perfectly to the policy carried out by the host State of Switzerland.
