The Vienna University was created in 1365. It is the most ancient university of the German space and one of the most important in Central Europe. It is also the first higher education and research institution in Austria. The University of Vienna considers that education and research cannot be separated. It thus organizes various research programs: applied, fundamental, specific and multidisciplinary. The department of International & European Compared Law is the main activity of the research unit, which focuses on multilateralism fields such as International Institutions. Its research teams have a particular interest in the fields of international law and politics, international security, States responsibility, protection of Human Rights, International Organizations, European law, and Environmental Law.
