UNIVERSITÉ LIBRE DE BRUXELLES

The Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) opened its doors for the first time in 1834 under the name of Université Libre de Belgique. The founding fathers of ULB have used the values of independence, humanism and democracy to build the cornerstone of the education provided in their institution. ULB has seven faculties and several schools and institutes covering almost all the disciplines: sciences and techniques, law, humanities and social science. Research is considered as essential by the Directors of ULB. The law faculty has a research unit called Centre de Droit International (CDI). The Centre de Droit International carries out many research projects and regularly publishes on issues related to International Organizations’ law, United Nations law, international responsibility, international public law and humanitarian law as well as the non-utilization of force. Besides, the CDI collaborate with numerous external partners, such as two UNESCO Chairs in Benin and Burundi.
