IAS-UN CHAIRS PROGRAMME

/ OVERVIEW

The IAS UN Chairs Program favors high-level research on the United Nations

The Chairs of the Institute for Advanced Studies on the United Nations will aim at promoting research on the elements brought by the UN system to the great world challenges. This program is fully integrated to the IAS UN missions which carries the mission to bring concrete responses to the study of the United Nations.

Therefore, the Chairs creation will allow to instaure a European research pole able to become a precursor in the study of issues related to multilateralism.

The Chairs will rely upon active collaboration among our Institute and prestigious higher education institutions that will welcome them. Our action will mainly consist in supporting financially the pulpits, their holder and the pedagogical team as well as to coordinate them scientifically in cooperation with the partner academic institutions.

The researches carried out in the pulpits framework will have to respond to a certain number of definite challenges. In this end, their works’ results will be used as a basis for the international and European debate. Researches could thus provide precious intellectual resources to the scientific community as well as a decision making support to heads of governments.

At the moment, the Institute for Advanced Studies on the United Nations works actively to the launching of here Chairs :

  • History of international organizations and United Nations
