DONATE
/ THE DONOR CHARTER
A mutually beneficial support
The Institute for Advanced Studies on the United Nations dedicates itself to the treatment of donors with the highest level of requirement and respect. This Donors Charter was created to ensure donors the required integrity and responsibility necessary for the implementation of the development program of the Institute.
At the heart of the Institute lies the attachment to academic freedom and excellence. IASUN possesses strong values and wishes to ensure its autonomy and academic freedom. Thus, we do not accept donations when the condition of such acceptation could compromise our fundamental principles.
Our generous benefactors have the following rights:

- To be informed of the impact of their sponsorship activities and of the Institute’s needs evolution and priorities,
- Access the most recent financial data published by IASUN,
- To know if the persons solicitating donations are volunteers, persons receiving benefits or Institute’s staff,
- To have the guarantee that the benefactors’ private life rights will be respected and that there will be full respect of the Law on the protection of data,
- Receive the appropriate recognition and the promotion for their donation in consultation with the donor, while respecting anonymity if required,
- Receive reports on the supported activities,
- Being informed on the recruiting and appointment process when donors support the Chairs development Policy. It is important to note that donors do not have the right to appoint and do not participate as member of a scientific committee or selection committee.
- In the case of financial support to students or PhD’s, the Institute is committed to inform and involve benefactors on the selection process.
All the donations:
- Will be devoted to the issue for which they are allocated. The Institute’s academic priorities can change in time. If it was to happen, the reallocation of funds would be debated with benefactors.
- The donations not allocated to an activity in particular will be used in purposes such as the Institute considers them more capable of making progress its academic priorities
- Any allocated and received donation will be immediately acknowledged receipt
The Institute is proud to receive the support of citizens, foundations, firms, and organizations, and will be glad to discuss the settlement of a potential collaboration with benefactors.
