Goals

Goals of the fundraising campaign 2009-2014

The Institute for Advanced Studies on the United Nations participates to the production of knowledge, priority activity of our development and information diffusion objective. This knowledge will bear the role to participate to the study and analysis and to the defining of political issues.
Therefore, IASUN is committed to:

  1. Strengthen its intellectual production capacities
  2. Diffuse and ensure the implementation of its recommendations
  3. Increase its efforts around major thematical axis and general objectives in order to reach the realization of its strategic orientations.

This is around these major world issues that IASUN will continue to position itself within the international and European world debates.

Distinguished knowledge production pole, the thematical axis will cover:

  • the administration and functioning of the United Nations,
  • the fair geographic representation principle for emerging countries,
  • the reform of operational activities –dealing with development issues, humanitarian, environment and terrorism-,
  • the relations among European institutions and the United Nations System,
  • and finally the United Nations history.

Thus the Institute has for objective to strengthen daily its financial capacities by devoting its resources to the organization of public events, committees, seminars, and realization of studies, expertise and publications and to the support of academic research.

The fundraising campaign goal is 22 millions euros until 2014, allocated as follows :

  • Capitalization in a sustainable endowment fund (not expandable) : 8 000 000 euros
  • Administrative management and development of the Institute : 4 326 200 euros
  • Alexandre Parodi Scholarships Programme : 1 622 000 euros
  • Digital Encyclopedia on the United Nations : 5 577 000 euros
  • Master Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation : 888 800 euros
  • IAS-UN Chairs Programme (For one Chair) : 1 586 000 euros
