IAS UN, a concrete response to global stakes
Today’s world is undergoing a tremendous evolution and we have to face the emergence of a new balance of powers that induce a new multilateralism. The conditions are then set for the UN to fulfill the mission for which it has been created. This is the occasion for the Institute to strengthen its works around the study of the world organization and to set up new programs aiming at modernizing global governance.
The Institute for Advanced Studies on the United Nations offers an in-depth analysis of the great world issues and to mobilize a network of excellence to realize its aspirations via large-scale projects. Research center with an international dimension, entirely dedicated to the study of the UN, IASUN will appear as a precursor in a rethought multilateralism.
Consequently, it is essential to increase the knowledge on international organizations, by remaining aware that they represent are best chances towards real social progress. In this end, the programs participate to the production of knowledge on the most pertinent issues. The Alexandre Parodi Scholaships Program and the Pulpit on the UN intellectual history will have the set ambition to bring high-level concrete responses to contemporary stakes.
In order to reach sustainable economic, human, social and cultural development of vulnerable populations, the Humanitarian Affairs & International Cooperation Master will ensure the training of the future managers of humanitarian affairs. Lastly, the Digital multilingual Encyclopedia project offers to make accessible to the greatest number the major role of the United Nations and the need for its modernization that constitutes the heart of the Institute’s mission.
